    Chemical Industry

Chemical processing often requires extremely high pressures to ensure reliable production and increased throughput. Site managers in this type of industry today are constantly faced with the challenges of longer continuous operation, higher temperatures and pressures, harsher working conditions, fewer operators, shorter maintenance times, and more.

Every plant manager, design engineer, and maintenance person must worry about environmental contamination accidents.

Sealing materials used in the chemical processing industry are determined by a variety of conditions. Special operating environments require materials with excellent chemical resistance, and good media corrosion resistance, and often require special products to meet specific working conditions.

With the rapid development of the chemical industry, the requirements for seal materials have also shown a trend of market diversification, such as superior performance, high reliability, and long service life, thus extending the maintenance intervals of mechanical seals.

Yoson’s goal is to meet the diversified needs of our customers and thus drive the continuous advancement of sealing technology, offering product solutions ranging from high-performance FFKM perfluoroelastomers (available in various grades and formats, especially for high temperature/corrosive media applications) to special solutions tailored to customer needs.

FFKM perfluoroelastomers offer the highest level of high temperature and solvent resistant sealing products, making them ideal for demanding chemical sealing conditions.

To meet demanding chemical sealing applications, Yoson manufactures products with high-performance raw materials that can withstand extreme temperatures and harsh chemical environments.

With over 15 years of experience working in the seal manufacturing industry, Yoson can provide longer life, less maintenance, and the lowest cost of chemical sealing solutions.

What is FFKM rubber used for?

FFKM rubber, or perfluoroelastomer, is used for sealing applications requiring exceptional resistance to extreme temperatures, chemicals, and aggressive media. It’s typically employed in industries like chemical processing, oil and gas, semiconductor manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals, where the sealing material must withstand harsh environments without compromising performance.

FFKM seals are ideal for critical applications where failure could result in significant downtime, safety hazards, or environmental damage.

What is the chemical composition of FFKM?

The chemical composition of FFKM, or perfluoroelastomer, consists of a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) and a perfluorinated vinyl ether. The exact composition can vary depending on the specific grade and application requirements, with some FFKM materials also incorporating a cure site monomer to facilitate cross-linking during the vulcanization process.

This structure gives FFKM its exceptional chemical resistance and high-temperature performance, distinguishing it from other elastomers by its almost completely fluorinated polymer backbone.
